I've always liked the T in a Circle Amphibious Car. Here's one I saw on an old auction.
At first glance it all seemed OK.
But ..... that's not a T in a Circle car!
I thought it might be a variation of the Schuco Amphibio, the West German toy that T in a Circle copied originally, but its not that.
I think now its the toy car used in Thunderbirds's City of Fire as part of the fire tenders, which we've covered a few times, including a toy's correct box revealed 11 years ago.
The brand name is still a mystery. Check the link here.

I do like this toy, they seemed to be everywhere in the sixties, corner shops and jumble sales etc.
ReplyDeleteI've toyed (pardon the pun!) with adding one to my vintage collection, to go with my Aquacar, but the Thunderbirds connection makes asking prices a bit too high at the moment.
It is a fab looking car Scoop. Like the Transcontinental Bus too it has real Thunderbirds chops. I haven't got either although I do have the less collectable T in a Circle amphibious car.
DeleteThe Transcontinental Bus is a thing of beauty, and a solid Stingray connection, of course. The prices of those are way,way out of my league. :(
