Another set of previously published photos of my Century 21 toys Spectrum Patrol Car.
Not that it really matters, but there's an occasional minor debate as to whether it should be called a Patrol Car or a Saloon Car. I've always called it a Patrol Car, as does the C21 box description and the Captain Scarlet specification sheet. Dinky called it a Patrol Car, while Corgi went for Saloon. Vivid went for the easy option and simply called it a Spectrum Car!
Those are great photos. I like the C21 Captain Scarlet toys.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kev. Yep, they were a great set.
DeleteBeautiful shots Scoop. I'm trying to recall if I had this toy as a kid. Wish I could go back and check! I know I had the Dinky one with its ratcheted sound-effect. Its great to see the C21 toy with all its accessories and its another wonderful vehicle design from Century 21. Was it Derek Meddings' concept? As for the name I think the P might also be for Pursuit in some quarters.
ReplyDeleteIt was a Mike Trim design, Woodsy.
DeleteAlways the Spectrum Patrol Car for me (SPC)---particularly as it only has 2 doors and any saloon has 4!
ReplyDeleteMore of a shooting break than a coupe though to be honest :)
