A further example of Century 21's more unusual merchandise licences was 'Crossroads'.
It was one of the early UK TV soaps, an ATV show, which aired for many years.
It also enjoyed a comic strip in TV Century 21's comic stablemate 'Lady Penelope' too.
Did anyone like Crossroads and do you have any of the comic strips or other merchandise readers?
I would like to thank Barnard Dunne for this information.
Interesting - especially as the film Crossroads to Crime (1960) was a live-action movie directed by Gerry Anderson. It was about a policeman who investigates a truck hijacking ring.
ReplyDeleteYes, I heard about that Paul. I've never seen Crossroads to Crime. Have you?
ReplyDeleteIts been on Talking Pictures a couple of times this year. I did watch it; its ok, if a little slow. Sort of like an extended ep of Z-cars is the best description I can come up with...
DeleteThanks Timmy.
DeleteAlas, no. Not sure if it is available on You Tube. There was a long documentary on the various Gerry Anderson shows, which included a segment on Crossroads to Crime, which had various clips from the film. Looks like a fairly average crime film of the period.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul.
