Does anyone have any method for colouring small scratches on toys?
I'm having some good results with blue and red Sharpies on Matchbox Superfast cars.
The red on the red Rolls Royce worked reakly well.
Lighter colours don't work but the dark staining colours do. I imagine black would work as well.
They buff up well too when coloured.
I was thinking about using paint pens next for yellows and greens.
What's your method readers?
I'll get back to you on that, I'm about to do that with some matchbox cars.
ReplyDeleteOoh, fab! Keep us posted Kev!
DeleteA small brush (1, O, or OO) and some tinlets of Humbrol enamel paint, for fine work. Generally, I do not worry about a few small scratches. Chrome is a problem, as this wears off from the plastic far more than paint off metal. Silver paint for touch ups where required. I would have thought Sharpie felt-tips, even with a Fine point, would be too big and clumsy for working on small models, but then I have never tried them.
ReplyDeleteNice insights Paul. I'll bear in mind what you say about paint.
