I love this. I saw a blue and silver version in a shop in Birkenhead around about 1976 - I can date this more or less exactly, as my mum was in hospital, so my sister who lived there was looking after me. I was spoiled rotten as a kid, but I didn't manage to convince anyone to but this for me!
Funny. The green pontoons section maks m think of another toy with a very similar shape, right down to having the motorized prop unit (1 AA battery not included) connect between the 2 pontoons. https://i.pinimg.com/474x/3d/74/7e/3d747e8e49622c90881f0a93bbcd12e3.jpg https://thumbs.worthpoint.com/zoom/images2/1/0817/14/vintage-mattels-sea-devils-commander_1_c5d7e27404a9e864e6724fc2e2a3000c.jpg
Wish we had more pics of Laser, especially the underside.
Oh Wow, a touch of the Boeing X-20 Dyna-Soar, with the pontoons underneath it reminds me of a hood ornament for a 1950's Oldsmobile
ReplyDeleteThat's a great design.
ReplyDeleteWould make a good 'Batameran' for the Caped Crusader (in black and blue, with red trim of course)

Loved the sea devils but never had any as a kid Lance. I see what you mean about the design. Gakken made something similar to the Laser.
