Hi,
I do not know if you have seen this before, but I just found this site with pictures of boxes for models that Airfix might have produced, but sadly did not. All would make great kits. Several are of Gerry Anderson subjects.

What do you think?
This is a dream come true for me, and the box art is outstanding, I would definitely buy the entire range if it were real
ReplyDeleteYes, this is every teenage boy's fantasy! And the key with the Airfix kits of course were the terrific illustrations - never lowly photographs! Good gosh if I had stumbled on something like the Cavosphere or the Red Arrow in a toy shop in the mid-60s, I woulda had a teenage stroke!
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful stuff! It ticks all my What If boxes!
ReplyDeleteOf course I'm a little prejudiced in preferring the late 60's Airfix graphic layouts because that was my time period!
That Spectrum Patrol Car is brilliant!
These kits would still sell today if Airfix were to take the hint, and actually produce them. Especially the Gerry Anderson models. I thought the Flying Bug Volkswagen seemed rather out of place, until I realised this is a 'blown up' version of the Matchbox Flying Bug die-cast from 1972.
