Had a hot bowl of Reddy Break tonight and it's true, I'd forgotten how good it was!
Quite delicious and I remember when I was a kid it was marketed as central heating for kids! In fact the kids on the TV ad back then did actually glow!
This ad must in some way still have an influence because my 4 year old Grandson refused some Reddy Brek because he'd heard it makes kids sort of light up! ha ha Now that's marketing!
Do you like Reddy Brek?
I used to love Ready Brek as a youngster. Scoffed it every morning before school along with a mug of Ovaltine. Dont think it evrr made me glow like in the ads. I tried some a couple of years ago , but it wasnt as nice as I remembered-these days I eat a big bowl of jumbo porridge oats (mmmmm)-I dont remember it as a box full of dust, needles and crystals of porridge extract, I'm sure it was just a finely ground porridge. Oh well, I suppose tastes change (I used to love Farleys rusks aswell, but when I last tried one of my nieces kids ones, that too didnt taste anything like I remembered - more like stale bread than the sweet milky flavor of memory).
ReplyDeleteOnce a Farleyman, always a Farleyman Timmy! ha ha
DeleteWay too sugary for me, although I have recently rediscovered porridge. Just plain oats, milk, salt a bit of treacle and a handful of dried fruit. Doesn’t make me glow, but certainly makes me go!
ReplyDeleteI take it you cook the oats Wote?
