I was a huge fan of of those long finned Dinky Cadillac ambulances when I was a kid in the 60's and adored opening up the back and sliding out the little fella on the stretcher. I think the die-casts may have even had illuminated headlights.
Like most MC readers I was a big fan of the Dinky Batmobile too, so I was pleasantly surprised to see a Code 3 mash-up of the two, a Caddy Ambulance and a Batmobile!
The two body halves seem to fit well together and the French modeller has made both white and black versions. I prefer the black. Its described as a hearse!
What do you think readers?

Wow. Very well done, even to custom boxes in the style of a 1960s Corgi. Both the white and black versions are described on their boxes as a hearse. The American term for a car modified into a hearse, ambulance, flower car, or other vehicle is Professional Car - I do not recall ever coming across an equivalent British term.
ReplyDeleteLove it!! I'm not a car owner or driver but if I ever come into money I would buy a Cadillac Hearse and customize that to a batmobile, this does also remind me of the Bat-Hearse that I believe was used as a band van in the 60's
ReplyDeleteLovely work!
DeleteDoes anyone remember the January E Type/Hearse mash up from the old movie Harold and Maude?
It went over a cliff at movie's end, so it doesn't exist any more. I've never seen anyone attempt a die cast version either!
Can't get the link to work Woodsy.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else with problems ?
That Jaguar hearse is a great car, and would make a fabulous model - perhaps even a slot car ?
ReplyDeleteThis site gives some information on the car, and states that a replica has been built.

Do ya know, I'm not keen on that Harald Maude E Type Hearse. Its unusual but the the overall look is off to my eyes. Sorry!
DeleteFinally got to it.
ReplyDeleteA stunning concept that really works visually.
