Here's my plastic Aston Martin DB5 by Century 21 Toys.
In immaculate condition it comes with a red racing stripe and friction drive. With its obvious 007 heritage it really is a cool toy.
The scalextric-like box shows a red Aston numbered 1. The actual toy is white and numbered 4 so it does beg the question whether there are other colour variations out there?
Have you an Aston Martin?
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, another C21 legend that sadly never made it to the States...
ReplyDeleteI've not seen another one since I bought this about 12 years ago Zigg. It was one of my biggest purchases on Ebay ever too and I remember my nerves sat at the back of a coach on holiday in Bavaria waiting for the auction to end. Amazingly I won!
DeleteAdd it to my list of wants. This is the only one I've seen. Dream on Timmy Toad, you're more likely to find Unicorn poo. I thought finding Sword stuff was hard enough, but C21 toys are either so expensive that TT cant afford em (such as the SPV, Sams car, Macs car etc) or else they be impossible to find. I've only spotted a couple of Hurdlers and dump trucks, some of the Topo Gigio, and a tank/bridge layer. Woe is me, where is everything hiding?
ReplyDeleteC21 has got harder to get I agree Timmy. Not having access to toy fairs doesn't help. There does appear to be less of it on Ebay of late too. I have managed to pick up over the last 30 years quite a lot of C21 Toys. I've avoided the big hitters like Thunderbirds and Cap Scarlet. I stuck to Project SWORD to start with and with the help of a dealer in the 90's - years before Ebay - I got most of the fleet. Once Ebay appeared I started to find the less well known SWORD stuff and also more obscure C21 toys like a wooden jigsaw and the hill climbing trucks. Its been fun and in 2019 I self published a book an even more obscure JR21 toys, their friction animal scooters and the like. these are great fun to find and once you've seen a few you'll spot the range a mile off!
