I found this odd blue transparent tube in a bag of old army soldiers and thought, hmm, what's that? The soldiers were cheap unbranded GI Joe/ The Corps clones with a few branded Chap Mei.
Anyone any idea what it is? I haven't. Its a few centimetres tall with nodules on top.
It fits inside something, the top part has tabs to secure it in place and the lower half would be visible through the containing structure. Some kind of ball launcher or something? Is there anything else it might fit into? Don't think its an army toy though
ReplyDeleteAh, that's where it went...
ReplyDeleteYes. Names please!
DeleteVery hard to say what this is.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it is a ball launcher though as it has no air holes so any snug fitting ball put into it would displace air and be held by a vacuum.
Th right side "tab" seems to show stress marks and appears to be bent outwards based on the look of the other one.
My initial thought is this a light tube from some toy with electronics in it. My theory is that this was in the front end of something, with the knobs poking through a little while a flashlight bulb or led was in the open end. When activated, the light source either shown or pulsed and this tube helped guide the light to the emitter knobs for real laser firing action or some such.
Just a wild guess and could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong lol.

Thanks everyone. All ideas gratefully accepted! I've got a vague feeling I've seen this somewhere. In a book of old toys. Maybe an action figure accessory?
