Me again. Attached is an image of the packaged Straker Edai car.
The image appeared in the booklet that came with the Japanese laserdisc UFO boxset - there were several nice color photos of items produced for the Japanese market.
A b/w photo of the packaged toy is also in Dennis Nicholson’s Gerry Anderson Memorabilia Guide.

Oh wow, those are nice. I even love the orange Shadow Mobile, somehow it just seems to fit the design. Very nice artwork too. I wonder if this packaging included a clear plastic bubble, the way Dinky Toys did, or if they were open ? Great find.
ReplyDeletePretty sure it had a bubble like the Fab1 paul.
DeleteWow! YES, really lovely. Edai Grip toys did have a clear square bubble to protect them, I was just looking at some Thunderbird examples on eBay -ridiculous prices of course!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of ridiculous prices, after staring into eBay's virtual window for a couple of years at the same desired toy, I finally broke and shelled out for a carded Bandai Captain Scarlet Patrol Car!
To complete my madness I bought a loose Dinky Ed Straker's car from the Ukraine!
I'm now waiting daily by my letterbox!
Please send snaps pf the bandai and Dinky Anderson toys Looey! When they arrive!
DeleteThat's still not Straker's car !
ReplyDeleteMish.
We'll need a dossier on this issue Mish. Are you the agent for the job? Why is it not Strakers car?
