This fab bundle on an old auction contained some nice morsels.
What really caught my eye was the Combat car on the far left edge.
Its a relative of the Echo Car.
Unusually its boxed which maybe new to the blog.
Anyone got one?

I bid on this lot mainly for the Hover Probe Force 3 (because it has Sword stickers on the toy) but also that nice combat car. Unfortunately it went for more than double what I wanted to pay. The buyer put the PF3 on ebay about one week later and it made £35.50
ReplyDeleteJust checked. Buyer of above lot has sold all of the above except for the helicopter, dinky plane and the combat car (and is still £70 short of recouping the amount spent on this lot). Will keep me eyes open incase the combat car gets put up for sale...
ReplyDeleteCheers Timmy. I hope you get the CC and we get some pics of that cool toy and box! hard luck first time round. Are you a SWORD fan?
ReplyDeleteUntil a couple of years ago I hadnt known about SWORD. Then somehow I found this blog and the triangspacex site. "Hey there's my toys on here". Dig dig through boxes and found my T1 from 68 or 69. Couldnt find my T2 tho(which I preferred over T1). Now I am slowly accumulating SWORD toys (as well as JR21 and other C21 goodies) They are wonderful things, certainly as desirable to me as the JR21 TBirds (I already had a JR21 TB3 when I got the T1 and T2 and back then seemed all to be part of a set). The 60's was a fantastic time for space related toys.
ReplyDeleteWhich C21 'goodies' have you got TT? I'm a C21/ JR21 toy collector too, all non-TV.
DeleteNot much yet, the only non TV item I have is the decimal dominoes. There was a nice Hurdler, dump truck and wrecker truck(in a crappy box) on ebay earlier this year. The hurdler has gone bug the others are still there tempting me...
DeleteI must admit I prefer spacey type stuff. The JR21 TB3 and smaller Sword friction drive toys appeal to my younger self. I used to have hours of fun trying to crank up the speed of the drive to see how far and fast theyd go when let loose....
Yeah, I've got that decimal dominoes too. An oddity really. I wonder if it sold well at the time? I've quite a few more non-TV bits by C21 like an odd wooden jigsaw called Kiddy Land and a magnetic gyroscope thingy too. I became fascinated with JR21 friction animal toys too and ended up self-publishing a book about them last year! But when I was a kid space toys ruled, along with monsters and, yeah revving those friction drives was the best Timmy!
DeleteSo did you get your PF3 Timmy? Such a fine piece, would have fancied it myself. Such a shame it was sold under the radar, at least for me. Congrats if you bagged it!
ReplyDeleteI didn't buy this one. I already have a NASA PF3 and fancied this one cos it had the Sword stickers. Wasnt going to pay what it sold for (although £35.50 is quite a reasonable price I was chasing other stuff). Will wait till a proper C21 boxed one comes up.
DeletePF3 is a whole world in itself and there are loads of variants like you say TT, the NASA one along with the Hover one. There's Japanese spacebirds too and JR21, C21 and even a yellow C21 version! Phew! Hope you bag a C21 boxed one soon TT.
