Here's a look at the Space: 1999 View- Master set, with photos taken from the 'War Games' episode, but called 'The Power of Fear' on the View-Master set.
The sharpness of the photos when enlarged leave a little to be desired, but it's still another nice item of Space:1999 merchandise.
Blog friend and fellow collector, Arto Haarala from Finland also sent me a photo of some of the different covers he owns, a couple of which I'd not seen before, so thanks to Arto for that.
Here's the rest of the 21 photos. Sadly, no 3-D for you, but, hopefully nice to see nonetheless.
.
I've got this one.
ReplyDeleteIt's colourful and has some decent model and action shots in it.
A better buy than the Dr Who reels.
Mish.
Definitely, Mish. One thing I noted is there's a lot of photos featuring just John and Helena, or single shots of either. The other members of the cast hardly get a look in, plus there's no photos of the Hawk Mk IV.
DeleteNice stuff I dug up my Viewmaster collection to check and sure enough, my Space 1999 has different package art! Also nice to see some old friends, I never got the Lost in Space set as a kid (But had the chance!) so I bought in on eBay for a reasonably absurd amount.
ReplyDeleteI also have a Viewmaster set of Superman Returns, which was the movie I worked on! It must have been among the last items produced, as the toy line was ended in 2009.
I'd post some pics, but I can't drop them here!
Sounds intriguing, Lewis, what does the 1999 cover art look like, is it one of the booklet ones?
DeleteI don't have the Lost in Space one, it always comes up a bit too pricey for me. I've got the Voyage..,Land of the Giants, and Time Tunnel ones. I seem to think there's a City Beneath the Sea one too, but I've not seen it.
I liked Superman Returns, a rare thing when the sequel is even better than the first film.(which was also , a smashing film b.t.w.)
If you want me to blog your pics, just send to mikeburrows@blueyonder.co.uk and I'll put them up.
