As you know, I'm also on the lookout for that landrover. I got a passable stand-in from a pack of toy soldiers on sale in a shop called The Range. If you've got one in your area, check it out. You can see it on my post about the JR21 TB2. There was a couple of them in the pack, but I can't remember where I stashed it, otherwise I'd send you one.
Now, as I recall, the JR21 TB2 Landrover was in a rigid plastic, whereas, I'm guessing, the Toy Soldier set one will probably be in vinyl, like the soldiers. I say this because I broke mine on the day my mum bought me the TB2 toy, probably in 1965 or 66, and have remembered how upset I was about how brittle the upright windscreen frame was, ever since. It ruined my whole day ! Mish.
Youre right Mish, the JR21 Landrover is rigid. I have a red one I found years ago in a junk shop and yep, no windscreen. You can get a red replacement repro part but with shipping it'd be too much. Wotan recently sent me something that has a red windscreen that may actually do the job when I get round to fiddling with broken toys again. I'm on the lookout for a new cheapo green landrover too but like you say many modern ones are softer plastic, which is probably a good things for kids!

DeleteNothing worse Mish though than having your day ruined by a bust toy is there or was there! I wonder which is the worse toy disaster a reader has had?
