Another wonderful piece of 1970 Space nostalgia, the Kelloggs R&L Lunar Module from the Space Age range, given away in Sugar Smacks. R & L stands for Rosenhain and Lipmann and they made cereal premiums for Kelloggs in Australia, for sale around the world. The Space Age toys were tiny kits, of incredible intricacy and the LEM is among the most fragile of the six.
Once more I am indebted to Andy B, who kindly provided this fine example to finish of my set. Its compared below to the Apollo Moon Exploring LEM, which in itself is diminuitive, but R & L still managed to cram in a removable pilot detail in their tiny kit. Its missing a small antenna, but given that Andy has had this from new, its fared really well.
The series comes with an Apollo Service Module, which docks neatly with the LEM. Mine has suffered over the years and is missing the hatch, exposing the three crew to hard vacuum!
Cool stuff from Woton and Kevin. Who would think something as old as SPACEX would still prompt such creativity. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThat's such a great shot with the crater at the top!
ReplyDeletePure fluke Andy, its the lights under the kitchen cupboard that make it!
DeleteI've recently acquired a couple of R&L premiums from Australia - they're quite small of course but are really nice.
ReplyDeleteThe Space Age ones?
