I had hoped that I might catch its arrival over Winter Hill, but unfortunately it came up right behind the house opposite, so I had to walk a way down the road to see it arrive.
I must have looked a bit silly standing at the side of the road gawping into the distance, but the great thing about lockdown is after prime time the road is almost deserted, giving me time for a quick snap before popping back home to set up for the money shot.
It was such a wonderful night, I took the opportunity to take a few experimental shots with black and white and various tints, to try and accentuate the detail.
Having shot my fill, it was still quite light and no stars were visible, but I did manage to get a cheeky shot of Venus, no more than a yellow blur at this distance, but still a very satisfying night all round.
