BULLDOZER IN A MATCHBOX

Here are two more bulldozer photos. In the early 1990s Matchbox issued recreations of some of their early models from the 1950s, under the name Matchbox Originals. 

All came on a card, with the model and a 1950s style cardboard box. The first five models were the same as those previously included in a boxed set of five models. 

These were followed by two further batches of five models, Series II and Series III. All were described as Limited Editions. They were issued in different colours to the 1950s versions. Series III included a copy of the No.18 Caterpillar Bulldozer, in yellow with a red dozer blade. 

In the 1950s the model had first been issued without the bulldozer blade as No.8 Caterpillar Tractor, and with the blade as a Bulldozer at No.18. 

As was common in the 1950s, early versions of the No.8 and No.18 were replaced with larger and more detailed versions of the same subject.
