All these models were made in England, and are of mixed metal and plastic construction. The name and number is given on the end of the box.
The PG Tips tea ads did not arrive in NZ until about the 1980s (I think, I am relying on memory here).
At the time I first saw them, they reminded me of an American TV series from the early 1970s called Lancelot Link Secret Chimp, which was basically a James Bond spy spoof done with chimpanzees.
Great series, Lance had a girlfriend/fellow agent named Mata Hairi, and an elderly commander named Darwin. The good guys worked for APE, while the villains were agents of CHUMP.
That's it.
