The diver and clear plastic screen are the same as on my LN Mechanical Fish, while the steering wheel is very similar, only the centre hub is slightly different. The box top does mention a Spear Shooting Action. This LP model is No.302, my LN Mechanical Fish is No.304. Were LN and LP the same company, or did they just work together ? Sorry for my ignorance, vintage Hong Kong toys are not my usual area.
Fascinating Paul. there's does seem to been a great deal of cross-fertilisation among LP and LN. If you click on the blog labels for them you'll see more.
Haven't got one but those engines are the same as the JR21 X-series, such as on the X60 rocket.
ReplyDeleteTotally Kev. They all seem inter-pollinated. LP, LN, JR21. The pen top on its back looks like it might fire a missile too. Hmm?
DeleteThe pose the diver has on the box art, turning back to shoot, seems familiar. Can't think what though!
ReplyDeleteOften seen in westerns on horseback (though usually without a diving helmet). Technically a Parthian shot I believe.
ReplyDeleteYes! Brilliant. Parthian. Fab Kev!
