My old Dad used to sell these cheapo plastic fine art pictures in his cash 'n' carry warehouse in the Sixties. His kids could shop there too as well as his sibs. As a result these pictures were everywhere in our family back then. At ours, our Sisters, our Uncles. Everywhere!
The one I recall vividly is the bottom one with the blue suited boy. Very dapper.
I've mini metal versions of these frames too, with photo's of my family stuck in, which then hung on a metal tree! Got that from my dad's place too!
My Dad's warehouse was a huge place called Richard Oldham Ltd. They sold toys too but I just can't remember what! Drat. I should see if I have any of my Dad's old papers somewhere and do a thing on that warehouse one day. It was an Aladdin cave full of fancy goods and Pifco products! I might have even got some decent Hong Kong stuff from there like Project SWORD! If only I could remember!
I once swept the whole place and got paid £100 for the day. My Dad taxed me £99! ha ha. Yep, I got one squid for sweeping a warehouse! Child labour I say!
Here he is, my late Dad circa 1970. No idea what that thingy is next to his deckchair! The tractor will be a cash 'n' carry special as was the owl watching him from the flower bed!
Could the "thingy"be a glass with flowers on it?
ReplyDeleteIt could well be Brian and it would make sense.
