Prompted by the sight of the unmade Excavator kit on the blog recently, I have dug out some shots of the various Excavator toys available. Above is the Imai Excavator kit, that Rob C has. This came in motorised and static versions, this is my take on the static model, with some customisation.
Again, an Imai model from the Recovery Vehicle triple pack, this version is about 4" long and much more basic. Again, customised by myself.
Smaller Imai Excavator emerges from the large modern Tb2 pod.

I love those mock-ups! they look brilliant! JR21 should have released the Excavator as a toy. Cool post and fine models!

ReplyDeleteThese great shots of the X-Car make me want to build the Imai kit sooner than later - hope I can capture the spirit of the piece with my shaky paint jobs! As for customizing, I wouldn't know where to begin, so it will be stock out of the box all the way...
