If the Martians or the Daleks land now, we are in trouble. I have now been home for a week, it is Day 5 of the Level 4 Lock-Down in NZ. Cases are up to 514, and yesterday NZ had its first death. I have been to the shops just once, but I am trying to get out each day for a walk. Given the lack of activity, I am also eating less, as I do not want to turn in to a Hippopotamus. Take care everyone, the Darkness will end.
I am so sorry. The news from Britain, the US, Italy, and Spain is terrible. Compared to what is happening elsewhere, even just across the Tasman in Australia, things are still quiet in NZ. Now 708 cases, with the first (so far only) death on Sunday. I have only been to the shops twice since Monday of last week, but head out for a walk most days. Spending a lot of time on the computer, catching up on Moonbase, and watching YouTube. The internet is really proving its worth in these times. Take care everyone.
Another bad day in Blighty. I wonder how long people can cope with lockdown? Its day 10 of ours here and there's the prospect of another 10 weeks! We clapped for our NHS workers and carers again tonight. National applause. the least we can do for the real heroes.
Yes, the medical staff, and supermarket workers. Here in NZ people have been putting Teddy Bears and other soft toys in windows, visible from the street, so the children (and grown-ups) out for exercise will have something to brighten their days. Is this being done elsewhere ? NZ is up to 868 cases, no further deaths so far. NZ is officially still set for four weeks, but they are saying it could be longer, and the Australian PM is saying six months. Air NZ is now only flying to five cities, and is down 95%. W
Yes Paul, there's a huge teddy in the window of a friend's house up the street and a rainbow poster pinned to a tree too. I mostly see dog walkers going past though. Take care of yourself and keep blogging. Anything you want on Moonbase just send it along! The more the merrier at the mo!
