This is unusual on Todocolleccion.
An old Spanish toy called Rescate Lunar or Lunar Rescue, made by Vansa.
It looks huge but its hard to say. The box inner that its sat on is designed to look like water, so the toy is some kind of space paddle boat. The yellow paddle wheels look like they could power this toy through water but I can't find any further info.
There's clearly an antenna missing.
Its an interesting looking space toy. Do you agree?
The Moon is covered in seas (dark, flat-looking plains), such as the Sea of Tranquillity where Apollo 11 landed. So a space paddle boat makes a warped kind of sense. Found a list of Lunar seas on Wikipedia. The brown of the box suggests lunar dust rather than water. Yes, a nice toy - 1970s or so ?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't see a date in the listing Paul. For some reason it reminds me of the wonderful and elusive Century 21 Lunar Climber toy.
DeleteI think the white torpedoes would function as floats too. Probably intended as an amphibious toy, so would be great fun on a beach!
ReplyDeleteA paddle boat!
