There's much love for the Gilbert 007 Road Race Set on You Tube so I thought I'd share more clips I found!
There is another vintage 60's Scalextric 007 set, pictured here from Slot car Portal [repro box] but its clearly not as universally popular as the Gilbert set since I can't find any footage of this in action at all. You?
Here's a rather uninspiring modern SPECTRE set
but fortunately Scalextric added mountains for this further promo of the same!
Gilbert influenced do you think?
An amazing set, wonderful to see it in action. The 1960s Scalextric set contained an Aston Martin and a Mercedes 190SL. The modern Spectre set is just not in the same league. This contains an Aston Martin DB10 and a Jaguar C-X75 in 1:32 scale. I do not think anyone has yet done a diecast Bond Star Car version of the C-X75. For some reason the Spectre clip with mountains does not play, I clicked on it several times.
ReplyDeleteFixed the Spectre clip so it should work now Paul.
DeleteThank you. A much better looking clip than the one with the layout simply sitting on the floor. One thing I noticed, in the first clip the box lid appears to show a DB5 and a DB10 rather than a DB10 and the Jaguar.
