This is one for those of you who collect or are interested in JR21 toys.
I saw this on an online auction this year, the New Flying Saucer.
The image shows what appears to be the inner card packaging, although it looks home-made to me.
Does anyone have the inner card packaging for this toy?
What does yours look like?
Do you have this toy?
Never had this toy flying saucer, but seriously want one! Back in the day, I had one of the later 1960s tin ones from Japan (King Flying Saucer, I think), and that was a glorious toy!
ReplyDeleteI didn't have one as a kid Zigg but have had several go through my hands as a collector. I have the JR21 version and the earlier T in a Circle version. there are also a German and Greek versions too. i think I know the Japanese King toy. I remember it being quite brilliant. Do you have pics of your childhood toys by any chance?
DeleteBoy, do I wish I had taken pix of some of my childhood toys! It never even occurred to me at the time. Somewhere in the piles of junk sitting around the house, I think I have Kodak Brownie snapshots of my first Imai Thunderbird 1 and Thunderbird 3 models, built but unpainted. If I ever locate them, I will send them along. Also somewhere in my files, supposedly, is a photograph a friend sent me, of his completed Model of the Imai Zero-X Mars Explorer - the big one - which I squirreled away somewhere for safe keeping in the early 1990s, and have not seen since!
DeleteAny old snaps of you and your models and toys would be welcome Zigg. I only have a handful of my own Sixties childhood and sadly none of my beloved space toys and monsters!
