Very sad news Scoop. the whole Thunderbirds cast is slowly fading. I met Mr.Rimmer just the once at the TV21 con in 2010. He was great fun and I immediately recognised his unique voice. he signed my copy of his book From Thunderbirds to Pterodactyls. The voice of a generation, Scott Tracy. Rest in peace Shane, you brought millions of us joy every week and inspired us to pilot our own great rocketships.
A lovely man who'll be sadly missed. I last saw him at the Anderson event at Leicester last year. He looked frail but he was still smiling and posing for photos. R.I.P. Sir. :(
ReplyDeleteRIP Shane.

ReplyDeleteWhat a damn shame, Shane was a C21 staple, with such a distinct accent. So long Shane.
ReplyDeleteJust got the news myself through my feeds. A sad day and his distinctive voice and presence will be missed.
ReplyDeleteSad news. Yet another part of all our childhoods gone.
