I had Power Records as a kid.
I then found a stack of Supermans years ago for my old toy stall in the late 90's.
These are the ones that came back home.
There were loads of different Power Records in the 70's.
The list is in blue on the back.
Did you have any?
Never had them as a kid, but came across a Star Trek one at a retro toy store in Durham Market, a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteIt's really weird. Theres no music from the TV show, or accurate sound effects and none of the voices are those of the original cast, but more sort of half impressions (except for Scotty, whose accent is Irish-American at best).
Mish.
Yes. Ive seen that Star Trek one Mish. I would jave liked tje monster ones as a kid but difnt have any. I did have Aladin read by Roger Moore I think. Still have it!
DeletePower Records made a GI Joe record with three different stories on it. I had that one.I was interested in the Werewolf by Night record, but never saw it in stores.
ReplyDeleteI would have loved Werewolf By Night Bri too. It was a comic as well wasnt it. A great one.
Deletelate news, but better than never.Apparently the GIJoe record was on Peter Pan records, not Power.
DeletePeter Pan eh Brian! Now that label really does ring a bell too!
DeleteI've never heard of them before, Woodsy. The blog's always an eye-opener, showing just how many things flew under my radar indetected :)

ReplyDeleteSorry i didnt get back to you Kid. Ive been tied up this weekend. Thanks for the offer. Sorry you removed it.
DeleteYes, thank you for the offer, Kid. It was very kind :)
DeleteOffer's still open. I removed the comment in case it was being ignored for 'copyright infringement' reasons.
ReplyDeleteCan I have a copy please Kid. Thanks a lot.
DeleteYup, send me your address to my blog's comments section. Don't worry, I won't publish it, so nobody else will see it because of comment moderation.
DeleteMessage received, Woodsy - will get one in the post to you in the next couple of days.
DeleteTa very much Kid.
DeletePosted CD this afternoon, Woodsy. There are two versions on the disc, the first with page bleeps (as per the original record) and the second without page bleeps, so that it sounds more like a radio play. I checked it before sending and there were no faults, but if you have any problems with it, let me know and I'll send you another.
DeleteHey Kid, its arrived! Nice one. It looks like the real thing too, just smaller. Very cool! Your'e Capitals handwriting is fantastic - like comic lettering! Is that your old skills still with you? I'm going on a short holiday tomorrow so I shall take the disc with me for playing in the car! Flame on!
Delete....and thanks a bunch!
DeleteI thought my lettering on the envelope was a little shaky as I was writing it on my knee, so I'm glad you didn't think it was too bad. Enjoy the holiday and the disc.
