The ever intrepid H, the Small Scale World toy website press correspondent, kindly sent MC these snaps he took at the London Toy Show of the upcoming Thunderbirds Are Go toys from Bandai. Thanks H!
As Scoop reported here in January, Bandai were named UK distributor for the toys in the trade press back in late January:
Its reported that the product range will be produced by Hengxin Shambala Kids Cultural Industry Development, Bandai's master toy partner in China. Distribution will be managed by Bandai UK.
According to the trade journal Toynews, "The new toy line consists of collectables, action figures and vehicles which encourage imaginative rescue roleplay and interaction between the characters and their craft".
There is also a short unrelated video by Blast Process on You Tube showing these toys at the Fair too
What do you think readers?
Disappointed. Most of them are reissues of the Vivid Toys from 2015 many of which can still be found in discount stores and on Ebay. The larger TB4 and TB2 don't really impress me. I hope they do well enough but it looks like they are hedging their bets by reusing existing moulds (or there's a load of unsold stock in a warehouse somewhere!) and bringing out just a few new items. Good luck to them though.
ReplyDeleteI suppose everything that's new gets redesigned Yorkie. I'm not keen on remakes of any kind as they never seem to work. But then again they're not meant for the original audience are they, but for a new generation who don't know the original perhaps. Its the same with Thunderbirds. Like you I wish them well with this new range.
DeleteI can't wait till they launch in New Zealand, that's on my shopping list guys.
ReplyDeleteSo my son would love this. He has been watching the series from the start, and I'm amazed at how expensive the toys are on Amazon.
