The recent Fab Worlds of Anderson had four of the five
Spectrum Angel puppets on display.
This is an original screen-used head of Symphony Angel. In
the series, as most of you Captain Scarlet fans out there will know, Symphony’s
real name is Karen Wainwright, and her nationality is American. Unlike the
other Angel puppet likenesses, Symphony doesn’t appear to be intentionally based
on anyone She was voiced by Janna Hill.
This is an original screen-used head of Destiny Angel. The likeness,
according to sculptor Terry Curtis is based on Bond Girl Ursula Andress. In the series Destiny’s real name is Juliette
Pontoin, and her nationality is French. She was voiced by Liz Morgan.
This is a studio scale replica of Harmony Angel. The likeness is based on actress, Tsai Chin,
another Bond Girl who appeared in the film, ‘You Only Live Twice’. In the
series Harmony’s real name is Chan Kwan, and her nationality is Chinese. In the series she was voiced by Liz Morgan
and Lian-Shin
This is an original screen used ‘under-control’ head of
Melody Angel. The likeness is based on singer and actress Eartha Kitt. In the
series Melody’s real name is Magnolia Jones, and her nationality is American.
She was voiced by Sylvia Anderson.
The missing Angel is Rhapsody. (The photo I’ve used was taken
at the 2014 RAF Cosford event) Her likeness was based on model and actress,
Jean Shrimpton. In the series her real name is Dianne Simms, and her nationality
is British. She was voiced by Liz Morgan.
The three ‘original’ puppets on display also had original
hands.
There was also an original screen-used Angel Aircraft on
display.
This beautifully restored model was originally retained by
Supervising Special Effects Director, Derek Meddings once the series was
completed.
