Woodsy
Here's a few of my 60's childhood memories you might share with readers.
Did you ever have Smith's Crisps in the clear cellophane bags, with little portions of salt contained in small spherical balls of blue paper?
Did you ever visit a Woolworth's store where the flooring was unvarnished timber floorboards?
Do you remember Joe Lyon's Teahouses or Wimpey Bars?
How about Esso's "I've got a Tiger in my tank" campaign with the fur fabric tails you could attach to your petrol cap? I used to walk around with one of those tails swinging from the back of my pants!

I'm currently working on a mini workshop, so i can make my own soft-vinyl figures.
Here's one my Dad brought back from the USA's Bicentennial celebrations, that kicked off my life-long toy robot collecting mania!
Finally, I knuckled down and documented the process behind building my 1/3 scale 2001 astronaut figure, which I've posted on Pinterest at https://www.pinterest.co.uk/looeymor/
Keep on Bloggin' and I'll send you some new photos as I do stuff.
Cheers,

Credit where it's due, Lewis. You're 1/3 2001 astronaut is an amazing piece of work!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Tone. Beautiful work Lewis!
DeleteHell's Bells! You have my childhood memories! Wimpy's when they opened had the best Hot Dogs. I don't remember unvarnished wood floors in Woolworths, I do remember them being well scuffed and worn from all the 'foot traffic'.
ReplyDeleteI was eight years old during the Bicentennial celebrations.Lots of fireworks everywhere is what I remember most! And I was definitely into the same toys you were,I still have a Great Mazinger action figure very much like the one you posted.
