I recently shoved my hand down the side of the settee and found a fork, a packet of Parma Violets and a few pound coins! Yay! I rushed out and bought a lucky bag!
It got me wondering whether you have ever found anything interesting stuffed down the sides or maybe even inside a settee readers?
when i was a child i explored the sofa after the visit of my parent's friends.. some coins were otten found.. :) ew
ReplyDeleteYay! treasure EW!
DeleteWell, 25 years ago when me and the Mrs had just gotten married, a friend of hers was getting rid of their old loveseat. Having only a couple of chairs between us, we went and got it. Ended up getting almost $10 in change out of it when we got home. I'm guessing the hour drive jarred it all loose.
ReplyDeleteFlashback even further, back when me and my best friend were sharing an apartment. My wallet vanished one day. We both tore the apt up looking for it. I went through the whole hassle of cancelling credit cards, getting a new license, giving up on ever seeing the pictures I had in it. Years went by, I got a condo and we both moved in, bringing all his furniture along (part of why me and the Mrs was grateful for the loveseat above). He moved out a bit over a year later to get his own place (across the street!) and the Mrs moved in. A few years later I was over visiting and we were just talking and I slipped my hand along side the back cushion of the couch and felt something. It was my old wallet! For around 7 years it was in there, went through 2 moves and everything was still in it! Treasured pictures, college ID, $37. It was quite a lucky bit of timing as he had started shopping for a new couch and my wallet could have been gone forever for real!
That is an amazing story Lance! groundhog sofa! What did you get with the $37?
DeleteI have heard story from a friend's friend about how he once even found BOTH socks in washing machine, now nothing can surprise me.
ReplyDeleteha ha! I sometimes find the odd coin in the washing machine Ran!
DeleteWhile looking for something down the side of a sofa, hit a knife blade that had fallen down there... rather painful!
ReplyDeleteOuch! Now that does sound nasty Andy!
