Scratchbuilt Star Trek McCoy's Medikit Hypo by Kev D
Hi,
I'm going to have a go at making McCoy's medikit from proper Star Trek. So far, I've made the spray hypo. Not easy as I lack a lathe and the skills to use one!
Thanks. I see what you mean about the similarity (Star Trek was there first!). In the original prop, you could change the vial at the bottom. There were various different coloured liquids.
I've seen that finger guard before and even used it at some time in my life. I think it may have been a steel sprung pickle grabber in the Seventies! https://www.amazon.co.uk/KitchenCraft-Vintage-Style-Telescopic-Pickle-Fork/dp/B0001IWUSQ
For me it always looked like Stimpack from Fallout
ReplyDeleteOnce again ran its an exucation. I dont know what they are.
DeleteKev. This new scratchbiuld looks amazing. I wonder what it pumped into peoples arms?
I meant education ran!
DeleteSometimes is it better not to know

ReplyDeleteA ha, I got a utensil with my pizza in ASK today, a pizza slicer. I knew I'd seen that hand guard before Kev. It was on my circular slicer!
DeleteThere is much debate over what they used for that prop. Best guess is, oddly, a chiropractor tool!
ReplyDeletepizza slicer!
