Hello Woodsy
I have had time to look through photo files so here are some that may be of interest.
Dan Dare with a cool car, more 30's Flash Gordon than S.W.O.R.D.
Some 54mm plastic spacemen.
My Sutcliffe clockwork Nautilus too.
I bought this one about 1972 from a toy shop. I had wanted one as a kid when they first came out about 1954 but was told by my parents that I only 'needed' one submarine.
In 1953 I had been the lucky precipitant of the basic grey version with a Coronation transfer on the upper front deck. Of course when you're seven you 'need' more than one submarine.
The original filled with bath water so much the clockwork seized up and it was buried in my childhood garden to puzzle future archaeologists.

Awesome! I didn't know about this spacebus until seeing this post - now I've got one on the way (via fleaBay). It will go well with my other Flash Gordon/Buck Rogers vehicles. Thanx for the post!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent Ed! Glad we could with the Las Vegas collection!
Delete... doh! should read 'glad we could help' Ed!
ReplyDeleteLOL I'm the lousiest typist in the world - my fingers simply will not type what my brain is thinking (of course, at times that's a good thing)
DeleteThat "spacebus" looks an awful lot like Buckminster Fuller's Dimaxion Car of 1933
