Guisval of Spain produced some large and detailed military-sci fi armoured plastic toy trucks in the Sixties.
They were called Pantera or Panthers.
They were the Pantera Verde or Green Panther:
The Pantera Roja or Red Panther
and the Super Pantera or Super Panther with the blue grille.
Besides their interest to the general military toy collector, with Johnny Seven's Armoured Battalion's influence clearly visible [pictured below: see Bill's Then and The Art of War -Pi] ....
....there are also features of interest to fans of Gerry Anderson and SpaceX toys.
The cockpit blister harks back to the origins of the dome found on the SpaceX/ Golden Astronaut cricket as you can see in Paul V's photograph below. You can read about the origin's of the Cricket on Paul's excellent website page here.
The other feature of interest to Gerry Andeerson toy fans was Guisval's re-use of the Captain Scarlet Angel Interceptor [pictured: Ebay] on the Super Pantera.
All the Pantera's are still available second-hand on Spanish auction sites.
What do you think readers?
