I'm not familiar with the Landram from Battlestar Galactica. To be honest I'm not overly-familiar with the film itself.
On the strength of this fab RC Landram test on You Tube I may have to check out the movie properly. Or is this vehicle from a TV series?
Doe it exists as a toy?
It was used on the episode Gun on Ice Planet Zero from the original Battlestar Galactica series. I don't think it was used in any others. I never saw it at a toy store here in the states but after buying the long range probe and cylon ship and being disappointed in the size of the figures, I never gave them a second thought. It was made into a toy though and is the rarest piece in the entire BG line. It was released only in Canada and in very small numbers.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lance. I've certainly never seen one. It is an interesting vehicle design though not unlike a SHADO2 Mobile don't you think? Were the figures like the original Kenner Star Wars figures? That size?
DeleteMattel made a Landram as part of their interchangeable toy line, of Scarab, Stellar Probe, Viper and Raider. Unfortunately, the line suffered a terrible setback after a child choked to death on a missile from one of the toys. As a result, all the toys were recalled and retooled with non firing missiles. The Landram was due to be in the second wave of releases, but due to the setback only saw very limited release in Canada.
ReplyDeleteHeres my collection, sadly without it!

Great collection Bill. It seems to have been quite controversial the first time you posted about the 'missile', judging by the comments seven years ago.
