Did you ever get injured playing with your toys as a kid? or maybe even messing with your collectables as an adult?
When I was a wee one in the Sixties I wanted to make a spy cigarette lighter out of a small plastic double decker bus. I tried to cut it in half with Mum's scissors and bam! I gauged a chunk of flesh out of my little finger! It bled like mad and I still have the scar to remind me over 50 years later! I bought a spy cigarette lighter from a shop after that!
Did anything like this ever happen to you? Toy accidents, board game injuries, swallowed a tiddlywink, die-cast mishaps, costume catastrophes?

Never as a kid but a couple of years ago, when working on my TB2 scratchbuild, my knife slipped off the tail section and sliced the top of my right index finger off! It took 3 hours at A&E for it to stop bleeding! Amazingly, it grew back without a sign it had ever happened.
ReplyDeleteYou bled for that TB2 Kev! Hope it turned out OK. Amazing that your finger tip grew back. Sounds painful though. I hate cutting my hands and fingers. I did a similar thing slicing up a bix to wrap a toy I'd sold on Ebay. I always sliced away from my non-knife hand but for some reason didn't and the sharp blade cut my palm. It was all I could do to get down the attic ladder clutching my hand calling my Missus's name. The sight of my own blood makes me go feint! ha ha I'm such a wimp!
DeleteWeirdly it didn't hurt at all. A papercut is far more painful!
Deletei put a current in steve austins eye and ruined it
ReplyDeleteha ha, Konsumterra, that is one of the funniest short lines I've read all year! ha ha, excellent. He was always raisin hell that cyborg! I take it you mean the see-through eye? Did it magnify things when you looked through it - before the current got in there?
