Me and Missus Moonbase have just watched Despicable Me for the first time.
The Minions are the best bot of the whole flick but I;m sure that's common knowledge now.
I couldn't help noticing how the film's despicable lead Gru resembles that much older bald bad boy Uncle Fester by the great late Chas Addams pictured below.
Do you agree readers?
What do you think of Despicable Me or indeed The Addams Family?
Have you any Addams Family collectables?
Yes, I am sure he is.
ReplyDeleteI think that Uncle Fester also influenced Leo Baxendale's cartoon character Grimly Feendish, and of course, the Addams family must have influenced The Munsters.
Oh, Grimly Feendish! Yes, now he was a great comic character Andy. I'd forgotten about him and I can see the similarities. Was he in Whizzer and Chips?
Deleteyes, Grimly Fiendish, Im surprised noone else has flagged this up before. Fiendish appeared in Wham! comic and later popped up in Shiver and Shake. Classic comic villain! Personally I cant stand Despicable and the ridiculous Minion obsession, university is full of minion merchandise!
ReplyDeleteAh, Shiver and Shake! What a comic and full of monsters I seem to recall. Just my cup of tea. As regards the Minions I struggle to understand Steve carrel's accent he gives to Gru and isn't really that funny. The Minions are the true comic element of the film and I can see why they've got their own movie without Gru.
