Sat'day morning and the sun is shining over Moonbase.
Its June and the living is easy.
Just parted with a stack of LP's to a collector who came round.
This just leaves my own collection now to enjoy, mostly rock and prog.
Vinyl seems to be on the rise again.
Do you still listen to LP's readers?
Do you collect them?
I never listened to LPs, I was a cassette chap, but you are right, they are very much still around.
ReplyDeleteYep, tapes were a revelation. Home taping was so much fun. I used to tape family mambers in secret! That was naughty. Mostly I taped the charts on Sunday night and then progressed to compilations of rock music. I think they're called mix tapes as opposed to music cassettes, the branded albums on tape. I still have quite a few. I recently sold about two hundred music cassettes.
DeleteOh yes, vinyl has made a comeback in recent years here. For a long time it was hard to find a new turntable in stores but now there available. There's also good vintage dealers around who sell good quality used vinyl at reasonable price. My brother and I enjoy new albums cast in colored vinyl. They're usually limited edition runs that should increase in value.
ReplyDeleteThere's a pile of LP's in every Charity shop over here Brian and we have a lot of charity shops. Mostly Beethoven and Nana Mouskuri but sometimes a hidden gem emerges. I once bought a pink coloured Elvis LP, which I thought was unusual. I saw about five hundred brand new modern albums still in cellphane this week. In a record shop that previously had only sold second hand vinyl. Its a second wind for these record shops. they must be thrilled!
