As a kid I remember having some Thunderbirds cigar papers.
They were small rings of paper shaped like a wrestlers belt and featured portraits of the Tracy family on each one.
I can clearly see them but not what they came off.
Where they children's cigars of some sort? Maybe plastic?
Or where they off adults' cigars?
Do you know what I'm talking about readers?
When I did a google image search on them, the first thing that came up was a post on Moonbase Central about them!
ReplyDeleteha ha, yes, it was me asking the same question in 2009! Were they plastic or real cigars? I found a beautiful online slideshow of the cigar bands as they were called but still no answer to my question! http://lester.demon.nl/superm/tbirds/cigar.html
DeleteDon't torture yourself Woodsy -Karel are real cigars from the Netherlands- presumably someone thought it would be a classy idea to put Thunderbirds on the bands.

Thanks Steve, I'm amazed they were real cigars. I have definately had plastic cigars as a kid but they were obviously nothing to do with Thunderbirds! I suppose it was like linking Thunderbirds to petrol with those cool coins in the Sixties and again in the nineties.
