Now I'm back in the saddle I thought I would exercise my creaky vocal chords with a fresh vlog.
My new film is a stocktake of the Project SWORD badges that I have in my toy collection. There are a lot of Project SWORD toys and a lot of badges so it does take some time. Grab a coffee and your anorak!
This is the first of four parts, the rest following over this coming week [if you can stand any more!]. A home movie in the truest sense: wooden dialogue, terrible filming, poor focus ..... but hopefully a bit of fun!
It is actually only just over 9 minutes in length but for some reason it plays a second time after that - doh! - so ignore the second playing! The film ends with a the Moon Ranger box. I have a new laptop and I'm getting used to the updated Movie Maker on it .... well, clearly not!

Enjoy [if that's the right word!]: the next 9 minutes could change your plans!
PS. If anyone else has badges with their SWORD Scouts I would be interested to know if they are Astronauts as well.
cool! ew
ReplyDeleteThanks EW!
DeleteBefore checking the video, to (partially) answer your question Woodsy: Both Scout 1 and Scout 2 come with the Astronaut badge.
ReplyDeleteSuperb info Arto. Do you know of any reference to them being Astronaut badges anywhere. Doh! Just thought, is it on the spec sheet for the Scouts?
DeleteJust checked the online Spec Sheet for the Scouts, there is no mention of badges but the Scouts are said to be manned by two Astronauts if that's any indication.
DeleteHowever, dug up my Japanese carded Scouts (2 and 3), and they both come with Astronaut badges.
Thumbs up, Woodsy. The home movie format of filming and voice over narration works really well. They give your film a good in-period-style which compliments these great vintage toys. Hope you had fun doing 'em. Looking forward to seeing more :)
ReplyDeleteCheers Tone. its hard to know which angle to go for to be honest. From the side you just get my hairy arms; facing away from me I feel the field of view id restricted and facing towards me you see my T-shirted torso! I don't want to show my face because of where I work - too much of a chance of being spotted and ribbed forever more about it! It is fun doing them. Have a go!
DeleteNothing creaky by the sounds of it, Woodsy!
ReplyDeleteOther than the odd sniff it's good to hear you're well on the mend and back up to speed. :)
Very enjoyable video (also part 2) which is almost as good as spending time with you and discovering your toys together in person. Loved the odd 'crikey' as well!
Best -- Paul
Thanks a bunch Paul. Yep, its as up close and personal as I can make it without showing my face [see above response to Tone]. For some reason my camera keeps cutting me off after 9 minutes 40 seconds too, which I need to look into! Cheers again.
