More cartoon capers readers.
This time its the turn of Star Wars.
Years ago I heard that there was a brilliant cartoon segment inside the otherwise live-action Star Wars Holiday Special from 1978.
Never officially released and disliked by George Lucas the Holiday Special did, by way of the short cartoon, introduce the world to Boba Fett.
I watched one version of the entire film a couple of years ago on You Tube and to my dismay the animated section was missing.
On a hunch I re-checked this week to see if the cartoon was available and to my delight it was.
At last I got to see what is a gorgeous ten minutes of Canadian-made Star wars comic-like animation and the famous first appearance of the dubious Fett!
You can too courtesy of Musta Costa Fortune on You Tube. Enjoy and tell me what you think.
Whilst the plot leaves much to be desired, my Fanboy child was excited to see Luke flying a Y-Wing Fighter! The background art also has a nice "Metal Hurlant" Moebius feel to it!
ReplyDeleteHi Lewis, yes I know what you mean about Meobius. Glad you're kid liked it. Its amazing what they notice. I wonder of this style was continued in any of the later Star Wars cartoons, which I've largely not watched yet.
Deletecool, and totally agree about Moebius' feel... yesterday i bought a lego y-wing on amazon..waiting.... thanks for sharing ew
