This gallery of spaceships was on an online sales site called Time Passages Nostalgia.
The gold crawler body with monitor piloted by a the yellow astronaut interested me.
Its clearly inspired by the LP moon crawler miniature and its missing its wheels.
But what is it from? Anyone know?

Further Mystery
Is the gold crawler the same as the blue crawler in this old boxed Multiple set previously seen on the blog?
Any one got it?
I don't know about the gold one in question, but I do recognize the chrome ones in the front row. They were popular capsule vending machine toys in the late 70's, cashing in on the Star wars craze.i have 2 specimens of the ship on the far left , but they are red.It reminds me of a cross between the Millenium Falcon and Star Trek's Romulan ship.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean Brian. They all look vaguely familar. I wonder if they are Japanese manga and anime designs? Alas I'm not sufficiently Japaned to know. The blue spaceship on a stand looks like a gaming peice - Captain Video? The green cigar shaped rocket top right is a Deiner eraser I think.
Deletethe gold thing is a cheap knock off of the Apollo MoonExploring MattMason Crawler, with pilot facing backwards!
DeleteInteresting bunch.Top row, third from right I have identified as a Flash Gordon Spaceship made by Premier Products of New York.I'm surfing for more info.
DeleteI agree Bill. Having double checked It could be the crawler in this set but its hard to tell http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-h0nsuAo3rxk/UurEfnp7rmI/AAAAAAAAdio/ymKEy4mGbWQ/s1600/menonthemoon1.jpg
DeleteNice one Brian. There's so many ships in that group that I don't recognise. What on earth is the red nosed silver ship with the downturned wings at the start of the middle row far right?
DeleteBeats me.but the blue one to its right. might be a prize from a cereal box.In fact, it might not be a spaceship at all, but a diving bell from Captain Crunch. It used baking soda to move up and down in the water.Just a hunch, but a strong one.
Deleteyep, thats the one. doesnt seem to have wheels, so i think its further plagiarisng Matt by doin service as a space sled!
ReplyDeleteGlad you agree. So you think they're wheel-less. That would make sense. But what are the red and white things in the two windows to the upper left of that Multiple set?
