Missus Moonbase and me spent a fantastic three days in the Mersey metropolis of Liverpool this weekend.
Being bowled over by the sheer grandeur of the architecture, an Northern English Athens by the sea, I didn't really need any vintage toys to turn up ..... but a few did.
The first I'll mention is Slade, a Secret Agent action doll from the Seventies by a toy firm unknown to me before this Sunday, Shindana.
I suppose Slade is really a Shaft lookalike, unless of course there was a TV series or film called Slade?
The boxed figure was part of a huge and fascinating exhibition of largely African American toys, games and comics, collected by a single collector, Jon Daniel, under the banner Afro Supa Hero at the International Slavery Museum in Liverpool.
You can read and see more of Jon's collection on the webpage of the Museum.
Do any of you have any Shindana toys?
