Continuing my Green Slime and Spacex LT-10 connection, here's a few shots of the toy on Flora which I figured would suit being labelled in the style of bubblegum cards.
Flying over the asteroid!
Landed!
A green glow!
Moving across the surface!
Rocky terrain!
At the edge!
Prepare to leave!
Lift off!
Those are excellent. That lighting effect really works.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kev, I'm really enjoying experimenting with background colours.

ReplyDeleteAs if by magic its back Kev, dragged kicking and screaming from the The Green Spam Pool!
DeleteNICE, Mike. You've completely captured that 1960's feel. Other than bubblegum cards, it reminds me of the lobby cards I used to see for SF films at my local cinema. Very convincing! (And congrats on winning the thing).

Thanks Paul. It didn't occur to me of the lobby card look - that gives me an idea!; D
DeleteHave to agree Scoop... vintage bubblegum card captions are perfect for the retro look you've created. Reminds me of 1958 AB&C Space Cards.
ReplyDeleteThat's just the kind of thing I was going for Tony. The vivid colours put me in mind of those retro cards and their simple headline descriptions.
Deletelovely stuff mike, im almost convinced ofbthe toys colour scheme now!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill, it does go well in that light :D

ReplyDeleteExcellent photos and coverage Scoop! It makes me wonder if there's a computer program out there which will turn photos into cartoon-like (aka bubblegum card style) art? hmmmm
ReplyDeleteThanks Ed. I must admit I've never heard of a program that would do that, but I can see the appeal.
DeleteHi Ed (and Mike),
Deleteif you have photoshop, try a filter called 'posterised contours' (or something like that - my current photoshop is in french...). We used to call it the "Thunderbirds filter" because it can turn photos into something looking like a Thuderbirds comic strip, given a bit of try and error.

Paul, I do have Photoshop - I'll have to look into that. Thanx for the tip!
DeleteThanks Paul, I'll check it out.
