I had a great time, and met loads of fellow 1999 fans including those talented folk who make up the All Sections Alpha modellers, who spend a lot of their time building full scale replicas of sets and models from Space 1999
Here's a photo of the lads in the display room.
This was one of the two original 44" Eagles on display.
Jim Winch of the ASA team, checks out the centre display table.

Here's a short video of some of the items on display.
I've always liked the space suit designs, but I'm puzzled by the blue space suit ? It looks familiar, but I can't think where I've seen it before, Scoop. Was it was used in a 60s/70s movie or another TV sci fi series?
ReplyDeleteThe blue suit was worn by Cathy Schell in Moon Zero Two, Tony. It does turn up in a few other series, Here Come The Double Deckers for example. It does turn up in the Space 1999 episode Mission of The Darians.
DeleteThanks Scoop. My head is now unpuzzled :)
ReplyDeleteNice photos and video. Well done! In the third picture from the top, my wife and my son also appear as special guests.
ReplyDeleteThanks Giuseppe. It looks like your son is very intrigued by what your wife is pointing at :D It was a great convention, I hope there's another sooner rather than later.
