Last week I blogged my new translucent green Project SWORD erasers. Here's another one I've seen online; a translucent yellow Scout 1 pictured top right and in the middle picture on its own. I don't have one of these so its new to me and the blog.
It appeared on the net in Japan with a group of see-through Star Wars erasers [or they could just be small toys or 'omake']. Creating translucent and transparent objects clearly has a long heritage in Japan.
The bottom picture shows harder plastic version of the Millennium Falcon. This lends weight to my belief that the softer SWORD rubbers are related to the hard plastic SWORD miniatures we've seen - in a more direct way.
ADDENDUM:
'normal' Scout 1 rubbers top right
'normal' hard plastic miniature Scout 1 pictured below [in red]
is that one strictly translucent, or just a lightweight plastic? Id expect it to be fully transparent like the Falcon variant next to it.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean Bill. I'll add a pic of a proper plastic Scout 1 for comparison if I remember.
