Just got the fifth edition of the new Thunderbirds comic, complete with a covermounted free gift of TB5.
Unlike previous models, this required some assembly and application of decals. As there are no instructions, just screen grabs of the actual screen model, I ended up applying the interior decal upside down! The molding is excellent and the detail impressive for a freebie, but construction isn't great and in my haste to photograph it, I sheared off the central shaft from the reactor vore. Still, a little glue and we were ready for action. A fine little toy, in scale with TB3, roughly and a nice addition to the fleet, as so far only Tomy Takara have made a model of Johns station. Thunderbird S arrives in March!
Got mine today. Just for a bit more accuracy, I cut some of the 'ring windows' from the pictures in the magazine and glued them onto the outside of the ring!
ReplyDeleteLovely that mate! Nice snaps too. It reminds me of a SpaceX toy for some reason, an updated ATS! Yay! What's the comic like this week?
ReplyDeletedo show Kev! think ill buy another one and keep it boxed. Im so hamfisted its unreal. comic is lacklustre as usual, very much aimed at under 10s, with crap jokes, quizzes and cartoons. but the toys are really nice, they are reminiscent of spacex in way, perhaps thats the appeal
ReplyDeleteI saw this toy in a Motorway Services this weekend. Hadn't realised it came in a box along with the mag. Are they all boxed?
ReplyDeletethey are normally blister carded in a nice little spacex like package, 5 needs assembly, so the box is a necessity
ReplyDeleteWell lets see the boxes then!
ReplyDeleteand the cards.
