Blasts from the Past

In response to various articles and comments, I thought i'd dig up a couple of follies from my past. First and foremost is the original ebay photo from the blue chrome Task Force auction, the EXIF information of which reveals the photograph was originally taken in April 2001. Which would put it about a year after I discovered Ebay and was much more of a toy purist. I bought the lot from a nice lady in the mid western US, as I recall, specifically for the lovely green Nova/Hawk toy. Having seen Woodsys set earlier and having previously discovered the orange Nova III (?), I was keen to complete the set of three. Still need the purple one though, 15 years later.

At the time, funds may have been scarce and other toys demanded my attention, so in order to generate a bit of capital, I decided to sell off some less desirable items. As a result, the as I felt at the time, lacklustre ripoff  Task Force, went back on the bay. I've no record as to where it went - probably back to the states - as at the time Spacex and SWORD were pretty much unheard of on this side of the pond.

So, yes, I am a complete dipstick, no, it wasn't desperately well made and yes, I wish I still had it!

In other news, Woodsys mention of the Airfix Vostok kit in relation to the Nuclear Ferry, reminded me that I did still have the tiny Vostok capsule from this lovely kit, seriously abused since the seventies and now barely recognisable, with a Roxy Moon Traffic Project M5 engine sloppily glued to its rear end and painted in my uniform matte black paint. Its the Soyuz capsule which would make a good ferry, but this 2.5cm model is very nicely molded in the original kit and could be made into a fine subscale model of Gararin's famous vessel.
