After cruising past Pluto this summer NASA's New Horizons space probe is already on its way to its next destination.
The new target is a Kuiper Belt Object nicknamed PT1 [Potential Target 1].
It will reach PT1 on New Years Day 2019. I for one cannot wait. NASA has found its mojo again!
I can't help thinking if Project SWORD/Tri-ang SpaceX were running the mission, which vessel or vessels would we send 4 billion miles into space? Which would be the best?
Unmanned the Lunar Orbiter comes closest. But if it were a manned mission then a fleet of Nuclear Pulse craft would probably do it?
