About 25 years ago when I first started collecting toys I came across a strange purple and silver space tank at a car boot, along with its remote - top picture right [yellow SWORD badge leaning on its r/c]. Like most of my stuff, this tank, unidentified at the time, was sold on.
Like the return of an old friend I found another of these tanks, incomplete this time, at a German car boot last week - front centre!
The karmic nature of collecting!
Name the toy and you go to the top of the class!
Its a relative of Multimac and I see some of this line, next to it. Multimac is a Tomy Zoids derivative, produced by a multitude of HK makers and a larger US company, either Silverlit or Laramie
ReplyDeleteTop of the class for you Bill!
ReplyDeleteI can add what that tank in the picture has carved in the base: "SL" nothing more. I would say it was made in HK around 1988-1990, maybe after the launch of Starcom (Coleco), which is also similar to these.
ReplyDeleteCheers Gog. I had a look. That's it. SL. Takes me right back to those golden days at car boots when Batman movie and Ghostbusters movie stuff was everywhere and in amongst them where little gems like these too.
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteBy the way, in the same lot I got my "SL" Tank, I also got a very similar vehicle with led lights, sound and motor (that means, also 1988-1990). This second one is "Winner" (base: "LWNR"). Winner still exists as a toy company, but that line is probably since a long time not available anymore. I'll share it anytime soon. I guess it is very rare.
